if you turn on your pipe and nothing happens,
look outside.
is it cold?
is there snow and ice?
if so, then your poor pipes may have frozen.
the kids and i had a blast playing with water guns
on a sunny 45 degree day.
the next day was even colder.
despite the cold air
we decided to fill up the water guns and play again.
the faucet turned, but no water came out.
uh-oh!
we forgot to turn off the water to the outside
and i have been using it.
so i left it
thinking,
hoping
and
praying
that the pipes were not frozen.
the kids must have played with it too.
not knowing which turn would turn the faucet on or off,
it was left slightly on.
this is what i awoke to the next morning...
if the pipes were not frozen then,
they are frozen now.
know a good plumber?
and here are my innocent boys.
see no evil. hear no evil. say no evil.
see no evil. hear no evil. say no evil.
You may try putting some food coloring on the frozen water feature. The boys would love to use their artistic talents. I especially liked the 'hear' no evil. Life is always easier when you can find the humor in it.

Welcome to the East Coast Winters. We have all forgotten to turn off the pipes just before the first frost. Find a good plumber before it thaws so you don't end up with water in your house. Now that is never fun! I will have to blog our family story on that one one day. You will laugh and cry all at the same time. Best wishes on unfreezing the pipes and I dido your moms suggestion- food coloring - what a wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteUhhhh....good luck with that.
ReplyDeleteargh! such a bummer! i love your mom's comment about the food coloring -- so like her to turn lemons into lemonade! and i love seeing all your little adventures in a new oh-so-culturally-rich place. looks like you guys are having way too much fun!
