yes, you're right.
a few days into our trip i was brushing dallin's hair and found this.
yuck!
i scratch my head involuntarily thinking about it.
the disturbing thing is we have not yet located where he got it from. the plane? hopkins? crate and barrel laying on the couch pillows? no one around here has reported having lice and i have tried to find out as much as possible from past playdates, but to bring it up in casual conversation is awkward. it is not a hot topic.
the good thing is no one else had an outbreak. phew!
my poor mom had the wrath of it all. doing load after load of laundry. to make sure the lice was completely gone we had to wash every sheet, pillowcase, p.j's and day clothes every morning. she easily went through a costco sized bin of laundry detergent.
thanks again mom and dad.
finding the lice gave me the ebee geebez and
knowing that even after treatment shampoo there were still more eggs
that needed to be combed out everyday grossed me out.
the only way to know they were truly gone was to get rid of his hair.
especially if we were planning to let him play with cousins and friends
for the rest of the vacation.
he cried before the haircut. the only way to persuade him was to create a hypothetical episode of "attack of the lice wars".

being a star wars fan, he was in on it hands down.
for now, the lice were left behind in seattle.
...now you know the rest of the story.

he is still adorable with long or short hair.
