i found myself on a paradise island.
we reunited with our good friends, the brown’s and family on the bishopp side for a beach vacation. we met in the outer banks of north carolina. it is a gorgeous chain of barrier islands midway on the atlantic seaboard.
my ode to the outer banks:
water so warm, oh how i love warm water, an enchanting cool breeze.
fine sand slowly slipping between my toes, water splashing at my knees.
crashing waves, sea shells discovered both in water and sand .
boogie boarding, diving, leaping dolphins, jelly fish swimming close to land.
everyone playing.
joy in faces, laughing, smiling, memories in the making.
morning run on the beach, rock band, delicious food, cooks to thank.
a taste of heaven, there i was in north carolina’s outer banks.
digging. where to? probably china because that is where you dig too.
alexander was caught by surprise when a tsunami of a wave crashed into the hole and rolled him up like a sand taco. great exfoliating for his skin though.
beach wildlife.
yes, he really was taking photos.
really? please no more.
we took a few minutes away from the beach to visit the avalon pier in kill devils hill. we had a taste of north carolina anarchy. have you ever been charged to walk out on a pier?
99% of the people out on the pier were fishermen and there was 1 fisherwomen… in a bikini. the fish may not have been attracted to her bait, but the men sure were.
stephanie’s boyfriend fishing on the bottom right.
our crew.
the water was really that blue and beautiful.
we may have brought the people, but the brown family brought the party.
between rock band and a boogie board, tye and jenner got the party people award.
we all took turns riding a wave into the beach. i wish i had pictures of the kid’s on the board, unfortunatly there was not a camera on the beach that day.
the bishopp family.
alicia and luke were in from raleigh, stephanie from nyc and us from d.c.
if jon and tye were not on the boogie board, they were playing ball on the beach. good times.
it was a BIG bonus to have our place right next to the beach.
saying good-bye was much like saying good-bye to an old friend, we lingered.
a perfect vacation! i would highly recommend it to anyone.
