yesterday morning started with us sliding backwards down the icy driveway until we found ourselves lodged between the two snow banks lining our driveway. thankfully for some 4x4 action the day ended perfectly…
our daughter naomi reese was born!
(our first glamour shot minutes after birth)
february 1, 2011
7 pounds, 12 ounces and 19.5 inches
complete with thin black hair, sweet big blue eyes & feisty like a queen…
the details…her delivery came after much anticipation being so many days overdue. contractions began monday night, then once we arrived at the hospital tuesday morning the doctor broke my water to help induce the labor. an epidural was in place around 12:40, just ninety minutes before our little princess, reese, arrived.
naomi is my beautiful and caring grandmother’s name.
reese is a name that comes with 100% personality meaning enthusiasm.
some of our favorite moments include:
“do i REALLY have a girl?” is the first question asked after birth.
our initial excitement,
we all show it in different ways…
the IV.
check out the IV in my arm in the picture below. every time i moved my wrist the catheter would slip in and out of my skin, then bleed. ouch! it was a toss up as to what was more uncomfortable, the IV or labor.
bringing the kids to the hospital to meet their sister for the first time….
our animal whisperer works his magic on his baby sister.
my mom meeting her granddaughter.
upon arriving home a stork had literally landed at our house.
thanks day family!
we have been home for 8 hours. getting adjusted to life with a larger family has been interesting. life in the hospital was bliss, i think i may head back.
one thing that we didn’t have to adjust to is the love we have for this little beautiful bundle of baby asleep just a few feet away.
thank you all for your prayers and warmest wishes!
She's beautiful Monica. Love her name! Congrats! You are going to love having a girl! Glad you got a picture with all of the boys at the hospital. We got some video of Jackson with Aubrey, but no stills. He was more interested in exploring the room and walking around with my blow dryer, pointing it around like it was a gun!
