A Purposeful Christmas

As a family we decided we all needed something to believe in, something for which we could have whole hearted enthusiasm for this Christmas. What a perfect time for a list!
Everyone brainstormed their ideas and we came up with our Christmas list of things we would do together.

Here is the list:

Hang Christmas lights
Decorate a tree
Make a Christmas train cake (kids request)
Make a Gingerbread house
Visit the temple lights and live nativity
Visit Santa (or have Santa visit us)
Go to a Christmas concert
Invite the missionaries over
Visit the White House Christmas Tree
View the Polar Express at the IMAX in 3D
Help the kids reenact the nativity
Read Christmas stories
Go on a Christmas light search around the town
Send the kids on a scavenger hunt to figure out their big surprise!
Make good food...ALWAYS!
We are happy to say we checked them all off!

The Temple Visitors Center and Live Nativity

Memorable
It was difficult to keep Dallin
in the theater because of the suspense. Zachary sobbed uncontrollably when the boy lost the bell. Defiantly one of the most memorable movie experiences.

To top it off, Zachary had to go to the bathroom so badly during the show that he barely made it to this trash can. Luckily no one was around...at least that I know of.

Santa
came to town and visited our street!

Building Houses
sweet
messy
fun
at times
a little stressful
but always worth it.

The Scavenger Hunt

5 clues were placed around the house.
Once they found the clues they needed to figure out what we were going to do as a family after Christmas.
Can you guess?

Christmas is over
joy is still found
hanging out together
at home and all around

  2. Glad Christmas was wonderful for your family...Happy New Year! P.S. The plastic books are just laminated. I took pictures of the items (or found them on Google images), mounted them on christmas paper, laminated them at Kinkos (they have a self-serve station), and attached them with silver rings. Logan loves them and they have been a fantastic language tool. I try to do one for each holiday.
