my son asked me the other day.
when is the special day we honor our brothers,
the ones that we shared our childhood memories and grown-up dreams with?
it has been decided.
it only makes sense to have brother's day come between mother's day and father's day.
so on monday, june 8th we will celebrate our first brother's day.
the boys are still making their plans for the big day.
to honor my brothers this brother's day,
i will reflect on the highlights of my childhood growing up with all 5 of my brothers.
some of the great moments were when they would:
- make me laugh so hard food would come out my nose.
- duct tape my hands and feet and carry me over their shoulders.
- pick me up from school (my friends thought they were so cute).
- lit a 100 pack of jumping jacks too close to me and burned parts of my hair.
- play laser tag and kick-the-can in the backyard.
- make sure they were the first to introduce themselves to my dates.
- ski hard. there was NO mercy. either i would need to keep up or ski alone. lol.
my brothers and my friends
what fun we have
the times we share
love is what i send.
i am getting cheesy, i know. love you.
happy day to all the brotherz out there-
monica

ReplyDeletethat is the cutest idea! and that picture of the three of them is adorable. i can't believe you grew up with 5 brothers! our family was mostly girls -- 5 girls and 1 boy, until the final caboose was tagged on another boy. apparently i missed out on some adventures!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea. Especially when all your boys have... and you for that matter is brothers. I still can't believe the things your boys come up with sometimes.
ReplyDeleteReading your blog always makes me think, laugh, remember, and cry. It's a highlight of my day.
ReplyDeleteGrowing up with so many brothers gave you good experience to know how to play with, understand, and enjoy your little boys.
You are awesome.
