leave it to my parents
to make flying
2300 miles solo
with three rambunctious young boys
worth every wonderful/miserable minute on the flights.
a full schedule was lined up with four days
of madness and fun with our family at my parents home in seattle.
some of our favorite memories included:
- my nephew using Clorox wipes instead of toilet paper. ouch!
- the 4 mile hike to twin falls
- the memorable first moment; d-train lost his first tooth.
- family/friend bbq. it was so nice to see extended family while we were there.
- 18 holes of golf + a 6 hole play-off to decide the winner.
- the unfortunate ones on the last leg of the relay who had to swallow a raw egg.
- wakeboarding. jumped the wake and did a successful 180 reverse. woot!
- all terrain vehicles. when learning how to drive one never ask the most dangerous brother, i made that mistake. miraculously i walked away without a scratch after rolling mine.
- the pie eating contest. zachary didn’t quite get the concept of dive in and eat it up. he was happy dipping his fingers into the pudding and licking it off.
- the 60 ft waterslide in my parents backyard.
they play in ignorance as their skin slowly burns.
we all forgot to apply the sunscreen! details, details.
for the first time since moving both jon and i experienced a bit of home sickness.
is that really possible?
do we really miss the three seasons Seattle has to offer: july, august, and winter?
no it’s the people. we love the people.
oh my gosh -- that looks like SO MUCH FUN!!! what a ton of stuff you packed into just 4 days.
