blizzard describes life around our household. i teased myself into thinking i was ready for Christmas weeks before the 25th. who was i kidding? last minute crafts and projects came out of the closet to be finished. a room was painted and tile laid over the hearth to create a cozy and warm atmosphere for our special Christmas guests.
the count of events included:
1 jewelry show (luckily the event was before the storm)
2 feet of this beautiful stuff was shoveled from our driveway.
3 days of school cancelled.
4 boys played all day and night in what seemed to be a magical Christmas snowstorm. snowball fights, snow jumping, tractor driving were all events that captivated the boys hearts and smiles.
5 hot chocolates and crepes were made to celebrate the snow. unfortunately the delight of the snowstorm quickly wore off after finding ourselves stranded not able to get out of the house for Christmas grocery shopping and last minutes gifts.
the 6 Christmas guests made it safely through the arctic weather.
7 rooms cleaned.
8 pumpkin swirl bread gift packages were delivered.
a 9 inch water mark on the ceiling was discovered and temporarily ignored days before the
10 (plus one more) stockings were hung all in time for Christmas!
It really was a "white Christmas" for you this year. Looks like a fun one!
